Harry, Nicola and Yohay sat around a big round table. They are wearing headphones and have podcast microphones in front of their faces. They are recording a podcast about their gluten free restaurant finding app at Web Summit.

At Web Summit Harry and I (Nicola) had an opportunity to record a short episode for Europe's podcast with Yohay Elam.

It was a nerve-wracking thought but we jumped at the chance to tell more people about the need for safe Gluten Free dining.

Preparing for the Interview

Preparation was key to feeling confident going into the podcast. The host shared the topics they wanted to cover, which helped us organize our thoughts. We made sure to:

  • Have our facts and figures ready (did you know 1.4% of the global population in coeliac with this set to rise to 4% by 2040, and up to 11% of people are gluten intolerant)

  • Talk honestly about our journey so far and where we want to go

  • Know who is talking when

One thing we learned quickly is that podcasts thrive on natural conversation. Harry and I bounced off each other and the host got to see our natural chemistry - something extremely important for start up founders. This approach helped us sound authentic and kept the discussion flowing smoothly.

The Recording Experience

The recording took place at Web Summit. Yes - in the middle of the conference! There was a lot of background noise and it was hard not to get distracted by the wonderful chaos that was going on around us.

We had a very limited recording time so we made sure to focus on the key messages we wanted to get across - being coeliac is hard, finding good gluten free dining isn't easy and we have big plans for 2026.
