April marked a major milestone for us: the official launch of the Glüf app. After months of development and testing, we introduced a free app designed to help people manage their gluten-free needs with ease. The app focuses on providing clear, reliable information for those with Coeliac Disease or gluten sensitivities. We want to make everyday choices simpler and safer!

The launch was met with positive feedback from early users. They appreciated the app’s straightforward design and helpful features. We prioritized user experience, ensuring the app is intuitive and accessible. This foundation has allowed us to build a community around Glüf and continue improving based on real user needs.

Connecting with Thousands at the Allergy Free From Show in London

In June, we took Glüf to the Allergy & Free From Show in London. This is one of the largest events dedicated to allergy-friendly products and services. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet thousands of people who face food allergies daily. We listened to their stories, answered questions, and demonstrated how Glüf can support their lifestyle.

The event also helped us understand the challenges coeliacs encounter when dining out. These insights are guiding our development roadmap. We want to ensure we focus on features that truly make a difference. Meeting so many passionate individuals reinforced our commitment to creating a reliable resource for the allergy community.

Being Selected for the Barclays Eagle Labs Female Founder Accelerator

Another highlight of the year was our founder Nicola being selected for the Barclays Eagle Labs AccelerateHer female founder accelerator program. This program supports women entrepreneurs by providing mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities. Joining this community has been invaluable for Glüf’s growth!

Through the accelerator, we gained access to expert advice on scaling the app, refining our business model, and reaching a wider audience. The connections made here have opened doors to potential partnerships and collaborations that will strengthen Glüf’s position in the market.

Joining the Alpha Program at Web Summit

Towards the end of the year, Glüf was invited to join the Alpha program at Web Summit in Portugal. This is one of the world’s largest technology conferences. The program showcases early-stage startups with promising ideas. Participating in Web Summit gave us exposure to investors, industry leaders, and fellow innovators.

Presenting Glüf on this global stage was a valuable experience. It challenged us to clearly communicate our mission and the app’s benefits. The feedback received has helped us sharpen our messaging and identify new opportunities for growth.

What’s Coming in 2026

Looking ahead, we have several exciting events and initiatives planned for 2026 that will continue to build momentum for Glüf.

More Free From Events

We will be attending the Free From Festival in Bristol. This is a popular event celebrating allergy-friendly and free-from products. It attracts a diverse crowd of consumers, producers, and experts. It’s a great chance to showcase new app features and connect with the community face-to-face!

Following the success in London, we will also return to the Allergy & Free From Show in Birmingham. This event will allow us to reach new audiences and gather feedback from different regions. We plan to use this opportunity to introduce upcoming updates and hear directly from users about their needs.

Applying for the Women in Tech Grant

To support further development, we are applying for the Women in Tech grant. This funding would help us enhance Glüf’s capabilities and expand our team. The grant focuses on empowering female-led tech projects, aligning perfectly with our goals. We aim to close the £47M a year revenue gap for restaurants caused by coeliacs eating out less frequently than those without dietary restrictions. This means we will be helping the UK economy! Keep your fingers crossed we get approved for the grant!

We Want Your Input on Glüf’s Future

Your experience with Glüf matters most! As we plan new features and improvements, we want to know what you need. Are there specific tools or information you would like to see in the app? What challenges do you face that Glüf could help solve?

Please share your thoughts here, in the comments, or reach out through our contact channels. Your feedback will guide our development priorities and ensure Glüf continues to be a useful companion for managing Coeliac Disease and gluten intolerance.

Glüf was launched as a passion project. All three of us have full-time jobs, and we run Glüf in our spare time. We are learning as we go and want to make sure we focus on what is right for you, our community. We take every piece of feedback and discuss it as a team. Nothing is too big or too small, so please do share your ideas with us!

This year has been a period of growth and learning for Glüf. From launching the app to engaging with thousands of users and joining supportive programs, we have built a strong foundation. The upcoming events and initiatives in 2026 promise to bring even more opportunities to improve and expand!
